Coins, Tokens and Bank Notes

To include over 300 lots from a deceased estate

A superb offering of coins, tokens and banknotes ranging from Celtic Britain and the Roman Empire through medieval hammered coinage and early and modern British milled and World coins to German World War II forgeries of Bank of England banknotes.

One collection pays a particular interest to Matthew Boulton and his Soho Mint (Birmingham) with an outstanding selection of coins from Boulton and James Watt’s steam press. These include highgrade circulation type copper coinage, 18th century Conder tokens and medals celebrating the life of Matthew Boulton.
